Defibrillator Training

Over 20 local residents attended the basic life saving and defibrillator training at Clyro Village Hall yesterday organised by Clyro Community Council & delivered by Simon from the specialised  training charity Cariad.

During the training attendees learnt  how to act in the event of encountering a patient suffering from cardiac arrest and how to access and use the automatic defibrillator that is located on the wall of the village hall. Vital actions that when performed promptly after an attack occurs really can save lives.

Many thanks to all who attended and to our trainer Simon for a most informative as well as memorable presentation.

For those who weren’t able to attend and as a refresher for those who did here is a link to a video of how the defibrillator works.

Please note to access the defibrillator on the wall of the village hall:

Grasp the cover either side and pull firmly towards you and fold down. An alarm will sound and if required (this can be silenced by pressing 2222 followed by the tick ✔️ button on the keypad but it will stop itself after a period of time.)

If you hear the alarm sounding – please be aware that a there may be a situation nearby that requires your assistance (or it maybe someone has tampered with the equipment!)
